The 3rd International Conference on Smart Grid Technology and Data Processing (SGTDP 2017) will be held in Suzhou, China, February 16 - 18 2017. The conference of SGTDP serves as a premier forum and aims to bring together researchers and experts from the external and internal, domestic and oversea academic institutes to exchange original ideas, discuss innovative designs, address important problems and share unique experiences on the field of the smart grid and data processing.

Recently, there has been an increasing demand on the sustainable usage of natural resources. In light of this, renewable energy has been attracting growing interests from academia, industry and government. Considering the increasing complexity that the renewable energy will bring into the power grid, the conventional power grid need be further developed to optimally manage the resources systematically to increase the economics, reliability, flexibility and efficiency. Such further development relies heavily on modern information and communication technology, e.g., data processing technologies. In this “further development”, the smart grid was born with a number of unprecedented technical challenges faced by electrical engineers, making closer and deeper collaborations highly and urgently demanded.

SGTDP 2017 is organized by Centre for Smart Grid and Information Convergence (CeSGIC), Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China. The conference also provides the opportunity to the sponsoring institutions and companies to advertise their educational programs, products as well as industrial recruitment. Targeted activities to be organized include products demonstration, information exchange, students recruitment, and so on. A detailed technical exhibition program will be announced at the webpage of SGTDP 2017.

Prospective presenters and authors are invited to submit their original research papers through the online submission system. To ensure highest quality of standard, all papers submitted to SGTDP 2017 will be reviewed using a double blind process.

Papers presented at SGTDP 2017 will be published in the conference proceedings. The successful authors will have their papers published on IET Digital Library, indexed by IET Inspec, IEEE Xplore and submitted to Ei Compendex for consideration for indexing
